This performance is an international peace and culture event involving the joint participation of parliamentarians, cultural figures, and citizens from Japan and the United Kingdom.

 

Through music and prayer, it will convey a form of solidarity that transcends national borders.

This initiative, set to become a new symbol of the friendly relations between Japan and the UK, also represents an effort to strengthen cultural collaboration leading up to the 160th anniversary of Japan-UK exchanges in 2028.

 

Furthermore, this performance will be widely disseminated through video streaming and various media,

​

delivering ‘the sentiments sent from the UK to Japan's disaster-affected regions’ to a broad audience.

 

Keeping the memory of the earthquake disaster alive and passing on awareness of disaster prevention and mitigation to the next generation is also one of this project's vital objectives.

 

Rather than allowing this initiative to be a one-off event,

we aim to establish it as an enduring international message for peace, developing it into a continuous programme of cultural and exchange events.
